Alert Configurations - NOTAM 

In this topic, we will review the NOTAM Alert configurations available in the Maintenance User Interface. 

We estimate that this will take 18 minutes to complete.

Detailed Explanation

Alert Profile Configuration

The End User configuration options for Alert Profiles are:

  • Weather Profile
  • NOTAM Profile
  • Sigmets Profile
  • Flight Progress Profile
  • Flight Event Profile.


NOTAM Alert Profile Configuration 

The NOTAM profile is used to configure how the system processes NOTAM Alerts, and when they are triggered and reported.

Interaction 1 Click the Notam Profile tab.

REMINDER 

The ALC is selected in the "Weather Profile", however it applies to all other profiles.  

Interaction 1 Click the Edit button.

Interaction 1 Click the Include Notams Profile? check box.

Interaction 1 Click the Airport dropdown button.

Interaction 2 Click the DEST - Destination list item.

A profile can be set up for any or all of the following:

  • ORIG: NOTAMs affecting the origin.
  • DEST: NOTAMs affecting the destination.
  • DALT: NOTAMs affecting the destination alternate.
  • TALT: NOTAMs affecting the take off alternate.
  • RDST: NOTAMs affecting the reclear destination.
  • RALT: NOTAMs affecting the reclear alternate.
  • ETP: NOTAMs affecting ETP.
  • ETOPS: NOTAMs affecting ETOPS.
  • EEPEXP: NOTAMs affecting EEP/EXP.
  • ENRALT: NOTAMs affecting the enroute alternate.
  • FIR: NOTAMs affecting a flight information region.

 

For each of the desired profiles, users configure a Start and End time threshold for NOTAM reporting alerts.

START: Enter the base time to start monitoring for NOTAMs. Enter the sign of start offset minutes: Enter <-> for minutes before base time.

 END: Enter the base time to end monitoring for NOTAMs. Enter the sign of end offset minutes: Enter <-> for minutes before base time.

Interaction 1 Click the Start dropdown button.

Interaction 2 Click the ETA list item.

Interaction 1 Click the Offset input field.

Interaction 2 Enter -120 into the Offset field.

Interaction 1 Click the End dropdown button.

Interaction 2 Click the ETA list item.

Interaction 1 Click the Offset input field.

Interaction 2 Enter 90 into the Offset field.

An alert profile filter can be configured to notify users for new NOTAMs of specific types:

  • New NOTAMs
  • Updated NOTAMs
  • Canceled NOTAMs
  • Expired NOTAMs. 

Note: The New filter and Update filter are automatically selected.
 

Interaction 1 Click the Save button.
