Editing and Saving Route Templates

Introduction

Editing and Saving Route Templates

This topic covers editing and saving a route. You will learn how to edit and save an existing route in the system. You will also learn how to use a route template.

We estimate that this will take 4 minutes to complete.

Detailed Explanation

Interaction 1 Click  button beside the Save button on the map.

Interaction 1 Click the button in the bottom corner of the map.

In this topic, you are going to edit the purple route from KELSY to YZP.

Interaction 1 Click the KELSY+CY+E list item.

Interaction 1 Click the YZP+CY+V list item while keeping the Shift key pressed.

Interaction 1 Click the Edit button.

Interaction 1 Click the field below KELSY input field.

The highlighted section is the part of the route that you are editing.

If you change options in the Options group when editing, it is applied to the whole route; not just the section of the route you are editing.

Interaction 2 Enter FINGS PUXIN into the field below KELSY field.

Interaction 1 Click the Generate button.

Interaction 1 Click  beside the Save button on the map.

Interaction 1 Click the Save button.

Interaction 1 Click the Route number input field.

Route Number: Click inside the Route Number field and enter a unique route number for your route.

Save orig runway: The origin runway is saved when checked.

Save dest runway: The destination runway is saved when checked.

ALC: This drop-down list allows you to select the desired Flight Airline Code that you want for this saved route. If left blank, the route is available for all but if an ALC is chosen, it is only available when logged in as that ALC.

AIRAC Cycle: The first field is the current AIRAC cycle - use the checkbox beside it to choose to save to another AIRAC cycle.

MFL: This field allows you to save a maximum flight level to the route. The value set here does not override the maximum flight level that is set for the aircraft in the FOMS 22O menus.

Delete Date: The Delete Date drop-down list allows you to select a date for the route to be deleted:

  • 1 year from last use
  • Days from now
  • Months from now
  • Specific date
  • Never.

Some options (such as Days from now) open another field, which allows you to enter a number to go with the option.

Comments: Enter any route-specific comments. The Comments field can be resized by dragging the bottom right corner.

OK: Clicking on the OK button saves the route to the database.

Cancel: Clicking the Cancel button takes you back to the list of routes without saving.

Interaction 1 Enter 3 into the Route number field.

Interaction 1 Click the Ok button.

The new route is displayed in the route analysis box.

Interaction 1 Click the Use As Template button.

Interaction 1 Click the Generate button.
