The purpose of this program is to allow the user to set various system defaults that are related to how the flight planning system will both generate flight plans and display information on the flight plan format.
The modes available to the user are:
Add
Edit
Delete
Video
Screen
Hardcopy
Quit
While this documentation will provide the user with information related to each parameter EXTREME CAUTION should be used when editing this information. Any change may adversely affect the flight plan output and thus render the product inaccurate and potentially unsafe.
Add Mode
The descriptions of the FOMS 170 fields are displayed by the Sub page in this help.
Edit Mode
To call up a record for editing:
Enter the airline code.
Once the record has been retrieved, you may amend the field requiring change with the up or down arrow keys, clear it with <Ctrl>-X or backspace, and then enter the new information.
When you have made all the desired changes, enter <Ctrl>-E to escape to the confirmation prompt on the Command Line.
Delete Mode
Enter the airline code.
The record will be retrieved from the data file and displayed, along with a Really DELETE? (Y/N) prompt. Entering <Y> will delete the record from the file. Entering <N> will cancel the deletion, clear the screen, and reposition the cursor on the ALC field for another entry.
Video Mode
Video mode allows you to view the airline code parameter file on screen. To view the file:
Enter the airline code. The record will be displayed if found, otherwise a Record Not Found - Press <Enter> for NEXT AVAILABLE prompt will be returned.
Pressing <Enter> will display the next record in the file in numerical order. You may filter through the file using the up and/or down arrow keys. Note: Since the Airline Code Parameter File Program consists of two screens, entering <S> will allow you to toggle between the two screens.
Enter <Q> to quit from Video mode.
Screen Mode
Entering <S> from the Command Line will bring up the Report screen.
Press <Enter> to scroll through the airline code parameter files, or enter <Q> to quite Screen mode.
Hardcopy Mode
Hardcopy mode functions in the same manner as Screen mode, with the exception that the report is sent to the printer and that hence you do not have the ability to terminate the report in mid-stream.
Quit Mode
Entering <Q> from the Command Line will return the Next PROGRAM-NUMBER prompt so that you have the option of going directly to your next program if you know the menu number, or of returning to the previous menu if you simply press <Enter>.
Note: The following descriptions represent the typical access and privileges afforded to users designated as Dispatch Managers/Supervisors. Users with dispatcher privileges will have limited access to a subset of the screens presented.
