1 Introduction
ETP Group
This topic covers the ETP group on the Plan Screen. You will learn how each option in the group is used by the N-FP system. You will also see a demonstration of ETP functionality along with a review of the dynamic and static ETP generation methods.

2 Detailed Explanation
Click
the ETP >> button.
The ETP group on the Plan screen provides you with the fields that you need to complete if the flight utilizes ETPs (Equal Time Points):
■ Out - ETP Out Station : This field allows you to enter an ETP-out station for the corresponding city-pair.
Note that Ice
protection, also called anti-icing, can be turned on and off for
each ETP-out station. Right-clicking on the ETP-out station
opens a context menu that displays Ice Protection and No Ice
Protection. Click on the desired option. No Ice Protection is
selected by default. Selecting Ice Protection causes the field
to turn blue.
In - ETP
In Station: This field allows you to enter an ETP-in
station for the corresponding city-pair.
Plcy: This drop-down list allows you to select a policy (as
established through FOMS Menu 232 (ETP Policies Program) for the
corresponding ETP pair.
Click
the Out Pair 1 input
field.
The ETP group is extendable to reveal 12 ETP pair fields that can be entered. A pair consists of one ETP-in station and one ETP-out station.
Enter CYVR into
the Out Pair 1 field.
Enter an ETP-out station for the corresponding city-pair.
Click
the In Pair 1 input
field.
Enter CYZP into
the In Pair 1 field.
Enter an ETP-in station for the corresponding city-pair.
Right-click
the Out Pair 1 input
field.
Click
the Ice Protection if
Forecasted list item.
This turns on ice protection if it is forecasted.
Right-click
the Out Pair 1 input
field.
The field turns green when selected.
Click
the Ice Protection Enabled list
item.
Click
the Plcy dropdown
button.
Click
the AB list
item.
Use the dropdown list to select a policy (as established through FOMS Menu 232 (ETP Policies Program) for the corresponding ETP pair.
The fields in
the ETP group are all disabled if no ETP policies exist in the
database.
Any policy remarks entered are displayed at the bottom of the screen when a policy is selected.
Click
the Compute button.
The ETP information
can be graphically displayed on the N-FP Map.
The ETP
information will not display until after the flight plan has
been computed.
Click
the Flight button.
Click
the ETP check
box.
Double-click
the ETP points on the map image.
Click
the Zoom in button.
Click
the Reports button.
At the proper zoom
level, the Map will display the individual Equal Time Points for
each ETP Scenario within the selected ETP Policy.

With the proper flight plan format variable, the ETP information can be displayed on the flight plan for crew reference.
