FOMS Menu 460 (Specific Weather/NOTAMs Program)

The purpose of this program is to provide the user with a quick and easy way of obtaining the details of weather, Tracks, and flight plan information for a given flight from a single source. This will allow you to view information on the screen, or to print the information for a crew’s flight package.

The available modes are:

  • Screen

  • Hardcopy

  • Transmit

  • Quit

Example: Entering <FSNC> will suffice as the program will figure out what it is that you want.

Note: You may also enter <CIRCLE> in this field, in which case the latest Actual and Forecast for each alternate for each airport you have entered will be displayed. The shortcut for requesting <CIRCLE> is to enter <C>.

Enter the ICAO code for the FIRs that you want to have NOTAMs reported.

  • If the flight has an in time stored against it in flight status then the flight plan will not be retrievable via this option.

  • If a flight has been canceled in flight status then the user will receive a message indicating the flight has been canceled at the bottom of the screen; the flight plan data will not be retrieved.

NAT Tracks (E/W)

Enter <E> or <W> to view the current Eastbound or Westbound tracks respectively.

You may enter as few or as many items as you want in this report selector.

Example: If you only want a flight plan.

  1. Once you have entered the flight’s key, escape using <Ctrl>-E .

  2. A confirmation prompt will appear; allowing you to proceed, make changes, or quit.

  3. Entering <Y> will generate a report to the screen, or to the printer, depending on the mode you have selected.

Hardcopy Mode

This mode functions like the Screen mode, except that the report is directed to the system printer.

Transmit Mode

If you select the Transmit mode, the report that you choose will be assembled and written into the Network Message program screen; there you can enter addresses, transmit time, and edit the report as you need.  Refer to: Network Message program (FOMS Menu 520) for further details.

Quit Mode

To exit the program, enter <Q> from the command line. You will be asked to enter the menu number of the next program. If you are not sure, pressing <Enter> will return you to the last used menu screen.
