Permit - Country Warnings

Introduction

Permit - Country Warnings

In this topic, we will review how to add or remove a permit warning for specific countries.

We estimate that this will take 3 minutes to complete.

Detailed Explanation

Add Country Warnings

The Country Warnings tab is used to query, add, and update country warnings (you can choose if a warning or error message is displayed). The warning or error message is displayed in the Permit Remarks tab in the Remarks group if you compute a flight that doesn’t have a permit for the country it is either departing/landing in or flying over.

This topic will show you the options available when you add a country warning.

REMINDER

Error is a red alert that does not allow a flight plan to be computed. Warning is a yellow alert that will allow a flight plan to be computed.

Interaction 1 Click the Maintenance menu item.

Interaction 1 Click the Permit - Country Warnings tab.

Interaction 1 Click the Add button.

Interaction 1 Enter CZQ into the ATC ALC field.

ATC ALC: By default, this field is populated with the ALC used to log into the current NFP session. This can be manually changed. Leaving this field blank will apply the new country warning to all ALCs.

Interaction 1 Click the Country dropdown button.

Country: Use this list to select the country to which the new warning applies. This field is mandatory.

Interaction 1 Click the AUSTRALIA list item.

Interaction 1 Click the Aircraft Country dropdown button.

Aircraft Country: Use this list to select the aircraft's country of registration. If this country matches the CC field (editable in the aircraft database screen or FOMS 220) an error message is generated. An ALC could have aircraft registered to a country different than the country of their ALC. For example an ALC could be based in Canada and have aircraft registered in the United States. An error message can be generated for only the aircraft registered in the United States.

Interaction 1 Click the AUSTRALIA list item.

Interaction 1 Click the Overflight Permit dropdown button.

ATC Item 18: Select this checkbox to add the permit to the ATC Item 18 remarks.

Required for MTTA: When checked, the country will be avoided when generating a route unless you have a valid permit for it. If no permit for a country can be found, a must-not-use rule will be created and the country will be avoided as part of the route build and flight plan calculation process. This feature can be turned off by deselecting the Permit Check/Check Permits checkbox on the Plan or Route Builder screen.

Interaction 1 Click the Warning list item.

Warning Message: Use this field to enter a corresponding warning/error message to be displayed. This field is mandatory if either the Overflight Permit Requirement drop-down list or the Landing Permit Requirement drop-down list is set to Warning or Error

Interaction 1 Click the Warning Message input field.

Interaction 2 Enter MESSAGE1 into the Warning Message field.

Interaction 1 Click the Landing Permit dropdown button.

Landing Permit: Use this list to select the landing permit requirement to apply to the new warning. There are three options: Not Required, Warning and Error. This is a mandatory field. If Warning or Error is selected, then the Warning Message field also becomes mandatory.

Interaction 1 Click the Warning list item.

Add: Clicking on this button saves the Country Warning to the database.
