To view a template, Default or Selectable Template is a mandatory field. If you choose Selectable Template <T>, you must give a template a name.
Selectable Templates are stored and made available through the Template button on the Plan screen. Compute inputs are loaded automatically when a template is selected from the drop-down list. These fields are not mandatory, you can leave these fields empty.
Refer to: Additional Information below.
To load a template:
Select a Flight from the List screen and select Plan from the Navigation bar.
Select the Template button, the Template dialog opens.
Select the template you want to use and select the Apply button.
The compute fields are populated using the record types stored in the template.
Note: Selectable templates are not merged. You can change the template using the steps above, however if you change templates, computed values that are not duplicated remain from the first template.
Example: Template1 has Payload set to MAX and Template2 does not. If you apply Template1 and later apply Template2, MAX payload remains.
Additional Information.
Template 1
Template1 does not have any record types or any values in the General tab of the WebFOMS Input Defaults screen. It only has default values stored or values in the Aircraft, Weights or Fuel tabs.
Template 2
Template2 has Orig and Dest record types along with the default values.
Template1 will be available to all Flights while Template2 is only available to flights that have an Orig of CYYZ and a Dest of KJFK. This applies to all the record types. For example, if you create a template that is only valid on weekends (VldDays) it will not be available for selection on flights during the week. The template will not be available for selection in the drop-down list.
