2 Detailed Explanation
Administration WebFOMS Screens
This topic provides you with an overview of the webFOMS screens that are in the Administration group on the NFP database tab on the Maintenance screen.
Flight Operations Personnel
This program is used as a control file to help ensure that access to the system is limited to designated personnel, and that Aircraft captains scheduled for particular flights are indeed compatible with the Aircraft scheduled for use. This can be of considerable significance in those cases where a change in Aircraft type is dictated by maintenance or scheduling problems. Operations staff are alerted that that crew scheduling will have to assign a different crew. The names of flight crew and dispatchers can be drawn from this data file and transcribed to each flight plan as it is produced.
Airline Code Parameters (ACP) - Main Tab
Use this program to set various system defaults that are related to how the flight planning system will both, generate flight plans and display information on the flight plan format.
The Main tab contains contact data for an administrator at the airline. Note: the company name specified is displayed in the top-right corner of PDF package briefs. You can also specify a default profile to use when automating a flight (if you have subscribed to the automation module) and settings for the default country.
ACP - ATC & Passenger Tab
The ATC & Passengers tab contains preferences and defaults for passengers, including weights along with checks/warnings. Default ATC FPL settings are located here as well. You can change these to alter the output of the ICAO ATC FPL.
ACP - Route Data Tab
The Route Data tab affects route generation and alternates. This includes the default rules setting (which rules to check), the MTTA factor and what type of restricted areas to avoid and whether to include US pref routes in the route analysis. There are many alternate settings including Min List Size and Alt List Source and whether or not dispatchers are allowed to compute a flight without an alternate (Allow No Alt).
ACP - Runway & Approach Tab
The Runway & Approach tab is where the system default is set for determining how/if a RWY gets selected. If you are an integrated Aerodata user this is where you specify your weather source.
Approach Types are defined on this screen in order of preference along with a legend. Approaches are databased in FOMS 326 and must be turned on (Landing Approach drop down) before they can be used.
ACP - Enroute Stations Tab
The Enroute Stations tab contains settings for MORA, driftdown, ETPs, ETOPS and diversion validity windows. This includes, choosing default ETOPS stations, show all EEP/EXP and whether tankered fuel can be used for ETP burn. You can also choose how your diversion windows will be calculated, and determine whether to automatically select an EU Ops ERA Airport.
ACP - Weights & Fuels Tab
The Weights & Fuels tab is where system-wide fuel defaults are set, like additional fuel reasons and values, tanker preferences, and reserve policies.
ACP - Compute Tab
The Compute tab is used to specify default taxi and circuit times, whether AWY mins and maxes must be adhered to, along with system RAIM settings and flight hazard info. You can configure curfews & MEL/CDL checks as well.
ACP - Weather & Notam Tab
The Weather & Notam tab is used to configure buffers, choose how or whether to identify recent notams (if desired) and weather minimums.
ACP - Network and Format Tab
The Network and Format tab is used to set your addresses (AFTN, etc.) if you have your own, configure ACARS defaults, and flight briefing package settings. You can also change the number of METARs & TAFs that show in the package, as well as choose an alias address to receive expired company NOTAM reports.
Use this program to store default data and have it automatically loaded to compute fields on the Plan or Route screen. There are two ways to load data into the Plan screen, either through Default templates or Selectable Templates. Selectable templates are available through the interface on the Template button. Interface templates are created in FOMS 171.
You can create many different templates, either Default or Selectable.
Use this program is to create and manage flight groups. The Flight Groups feature is used to filter the flight list so that individual dispatchers only see the flights that they are responsible for. Dispatchers also have the option to see flights for another desk if required. Normally the dispatch manager will assign flights to their individual dispatchers based on their operations (domestic vs. international).
Use this program to maintain the Geographic Area NOTAM types. Before you can create a Geographic Area NOTAM you must create the area using the FIR Configuration WebFOMS screen.
Additional Fuel Configuration
Use this program to set a default additional fuel amount based on city pair, ALC, and equipment type. The Reason is pulled from the defaults you set up in Airline Code Parameters under Weights & Fuels. If you don't have a reason set up in the ACP menu no reasons will be available for selection.
Ignore Rules Configuration
Use this program to identify a RAD, NOTAM or AIP
that you want to ignore when generating a route..
