This simulation will review the practical application of the reserve policies, as well as a review of how those policies can be set on the back end, including the use of Input Defaults.
We estimate that this will take 3 minutes to complete.
2 Detailed Explanation
N-Flight Planning Reserve Policy Selection
This module will review the practical application of the various Reserve Policies available via the N-FP interface. Note that the default values for Reserve Fuel can be set in the Airline Code Parameters and/or Aircraft Characteristics.
Click the Reserve dropdown button.
The Reserve selection is an option within the Fuel Group on the Plan Screen.
The Reserve selection allows you to specify either a "policy", a fixed amount of fuel as a weight, a fixed amount of fuel as a time in minutes, or a percentage of the total flight time.
NAVBLUE has an extensive catalog of existing Reserve Policies. The system can support up to 100 Reserve Policies in the Reserve drop down. If a customer requires a policy that does not currently exist, it can be created.
Click the 8 list item.
The description of the Reserve Policy can be found below
The drop down list shows policy options 0 - 100
Click the green arrow next to Reserve button.
Once a new policy is selected, the description displays below.
Click the Policy dropdown button.
The "Consumed Enroute" box will allow the system to burn the reserve fuel along the route of flight.
There is a similar trigger in Airline Code Parameters to allow the system to burn reserve fuel by default.
Click the Percent list item.
In addition to specific policies, the system will allow you to select a specific fixed fuel weight, time, or percentage.
Modified Reserves will be discussed in a separate module
Click the Percent input field.
If a fixed weight, time, or percentage is selected, the value can be entered in this field.
Enter 5 into the Percent field.
The value will be displayed here on the Plan Screen.
