Edit a City-Pair Route 

This topic demonstrates how to ues the City-Pair Routes screen to edit a route in the system. 

We estimate that this will take 5 minutes to complete.

2       Detailed Explanation 

Edit a City-Pair Route 

This topic shows you how to edit a city-pair route that is in the N-Flight Planning system.

This functionality is available to all users that have access to the FOMS menus.

City-Pair Routes Screen 

The City-Pair Route interface is available through the Maintenance menu.

Filter info: Granularity of filter options allow for strict or liberal route applicability.

Options: Granular options allow for setting default flight conditions, and allowing the system to trigger warnings if certain conditions are not met.

Valid Days: Route validity can be set for specific weekdays, weekends, or user defined calendar days.

Route building will be explained during the recorded demonstration.

The Dual AIRAC Functionality allows for Add/Edit/Delete operations on either the current or next AIRAC Cycle, when two are available.

 

Here the user will choose the AIRAC Cycle to be queried.

The following steps show you how to edit a city-pair currently in the system. 

Interaction 1 Click the Airac Cycle dropdown button.

Customers who have saved routes under multiple ALC designators utilize this field to distinguish which ALC designator will be queried.

Interaction 2 Enter CZB into the ALC field.

Interaction 1 Click the Origin input field.

The system will recognize airport identifiers in either ICAO or IATA format.

We have scrolled down to 21L in this simulation to save time. This isn't standard system functionality.

Waypoint "CRL" does not connect to waypoint "APE" on airway J34. The system checks the route as you edit and issues errors and warnings along the way.

Adding additional navigational information will resolve the issue.

This invalid route data has been resolved with the addition of waypoint "DJB" and airway J83.

This error may be cleared.

Interaction 1 Click the Alert message at the bottom left-hand side of the screen.

Routes can also be edited via the Route String Editor.  This allows for editing the route string as text, with copy/cut/paste functionality.

Interaction 1 After scrolling down, click the Switch to Route String Editor button via the a in the top right-hand side of the table.

Interaction 1 Double-click the Path input field.

Interaction 2 Press the Backspace key to delete the highlighted text.

Interaction 3 Enter DCT into the Path field.
