1       Introduction

Sending Options

This simulation will provide a step-by-step tutorial of the methods employed in sending flight plans, and ATC filings.

We estimate that this will take 3 minutes to complete.

2       Detailed Explanation

Sending options

This module will go over the different options for sending a flight package.  The three main sending options are:

1. Send ATC
2. Send Flight Package
3. Send ACARS

These options are available in the Reports screen after a flight plan has been computed.

Attaching Documents

You can attach files to a flight package on a case by case basis if needed. To do this, select Attach and a pop up will appear that allows you to browse your computer to select the file you want to send.  Currently PDF, Word and JPEG documents are allowed with a maximum size of 1-2MB.

Interaction 1

Interaction 1 Click the Send to ATC button.

The Send ATC button will allow you to send the flight strip to the applicable ATC Centers and also make any manual changes to the strip.

Interaction 1

Interaction 1 Click the Details hyperlink.

There are five ATC message in addition to sending the original strip:

FPL - Flight Plan - Clicking on this option brings up the flight plan message to be sent to ATC recipients as listed in the ATC Confirmation dialog.

CHG - Change - Select this option when there is a change to the data that was originally sent such as flight level, reroutes or flight rules.

DLA - Delay - Transmitted when departure of an aircraft, for which a FPL message has been transmitted, is postponed or delayed more than 30 minutes after the estimated time of departure contained in the FPL.

CNL - Cancellation - Transmitted when a filed flight plan (FPL) message was transmitted and the flight is canceled.

DEP - Departure Message - Can be sent after take-off of scheduled flights whose movements must be notified.

Transmitted when departure of an aircraft, for which an FPL message has been transmitted, is postponed or delayed more than 30 minutes after the estimated time of departure contained in the FPL.

In this example we will select Details to view our expanded options.
